Hotel Klosterbräustuben3 Star Hotel

Blumenstraße 19, 77736 Zell am Harmersbach

Guest review score

8.4 from 8 reviews

The bright playground will seduce all younger guests, The central Black Forest around Offenburg features a variety of natural landscapes that blend harmoniously with the wooded mountains. In the hilly Ortenau region, Riesling, Ruländer, Traminer, Pinot Noir and Spätburgunder grapes grow on the steep vine-clad hills which drop down into the Upper Rhine Valley. A number of impressive ruins hark back to the region's colourful history. This 3-Star-Superior hotel is set in the Black Forest town of Zell am Harmersbach amid the idyllic Harmersbachtal valley, Strasbourg is a unique city, it has a combination of France and Germany that is shaped in its ancient buildings and in the architecture of the city. Definitively a very good destination to visit when you are on France. The rustic the hotel offers cosy rooms and apartments which also cater to guests with mobility problems, Strasbourg is one of France's major ports and is the seat of the Central Commission for Navigation on the Rhine. Is known because of its beautiful historical centre, the Grande Île, which is "Grand Island", which is a World Heritage site by UNESCO. At the end of the 19th century Strasbourg passed to be a part of Germany, but reverted to France in 1918. Strasbourg is located in France's border and has much influence of other countries such as Germany, Italy and Spain. The German town across the Rhine is Kehl. Free parking is available on location, The Black Forest, or Schwarzwald to give it its German name, is famous the world over. Deeply rooted in its traditional culture and possibly best known as the home of the cuckoo clock, the Black Forest is an area of mountains and forest 200 kilometres long and up to 60 kilometres wide, which borders France in the west, Switzerland in the south, the Swabian Alb and Lake Constance in the east, and the Kraichgau region in the north. Hotel Klosterbräustuben’s wellness area includes an indoor pool, highly valued, generous saunas and infra-red cabins, Right next to the cathedral, place du Château is enclosed to the east and south by the Lycée Fustel and the imposing Palais Rohan, both eighteenth-century buildings, the latter designed for the immensely powerful Rohan family, who, for several generations in a row, cornered the market in cardinals' hats. There are three museums in the Palais Rohan itself, which is Mon & Wed–Sun 10am–6pm; closed public hols; €6 for all three, : the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Musée des Beaux-Arts, with a decent collection of European paintings from Giotto to the 19th century, and the rather specialist Musée Archéologique. Of the three collections, the Arts Décoratifs stands out with its eighteenth-century faïence tiles crafted in the city by Paul Hannong. The rooms of the palace are vast, opulent and ostentatious but not especially interesting. Extensive hiking and bicycle trails and colourful cultural activities await you in the area, Today old animosities have been submerged in the togetherness of the European Union, with Strasbourg the seat of the Council of Europe, the European Court of Human Rights and the European Parliament. Prosperous, beautiful and easy to get around, with an orderliness that is Germanic rather than Latin, the city is big enough – with a population of over a quarter of a million people – to have a metropolitan air without being overwhelming. It has one of the loveliest cathedrals in France and one of the oldest and most active universities: this is the one city in eastern France that is definitely worth a detour. WLAN can be accessed for free in Hotel Klosterbräustuben’s communal areas, Visible throughout the city is the magnificent filigree spire of the pink sandstone cathedral that dominates not just the city but much of Alsace, though its silhouette is currently deformed by scaffolding likely to be in place for some time due to restoration work. To the immediate south of this building are the best of the museums, to the north, unappealing place Kléber at the heart of the commercial district, and, to the west, more intimate place Gutenberg, nominally the main square. About a fifteen-minute walk west on the tip of the island is picturesque La Petite France, where timber-framed houses and gently flowing canals hark back to the city's medieval. The restaurant will spoil you with typical Baden specialities and selected wines, Next door, in the mansion lived in by the cathedral architects, the excellent Musée de l'Oeuvre Notre-Dame, which is Tues–Sun 10am–6pm; €3, houses the original sculptures from the cathedral exterior, damaged in the Revolution and replaced today by copies; both sets are worth seeing. Other treasures here include glass from the city's original Romanesque cathedral; the eleventh-century Wissembourg Christ, said to be the oldest representation of a human figure in stained glass; and the architect's original parchment drawings for the statuary, done in fascinating detail down to the expressions on each figure's face., High peaks and wild, romantic gorges, Climatic, hydrotherapy and other health resorts are dotted all over the Black Forest, whose thermal springs have been prized since Roman times, The Enz, Nagold and Alb rivers and their tributaries have carved deep valleys into the densely wooded sandstone massif of the northern Black Forest region. On the plateaus the forest has only been partially cleared. Many spa resorts use the hot or mineral springs in the valleys for a variety of therapeutic treatments. These luxurious spa resorts are the perfect place for a traditional health cure or wellness break., A journey through the northern Black Forest takes you through forests of fir and pine and across high plateaus. Ferns and foxgloves carpet the woods, while broom and lupins flourish at the sides of the roads. These plants are characteristic of this region between Karlsruhe, Pforzheim, Baden-Baden and Freudenstadt. A true paradise for walkers in both summer and winter with views as far as the Upper Rhine Plains and beyond the river to the Vosges mountains. Hotels are numerous and local attractions include Mount Hornisgrinde, Lake Mummelsee, Mount Schliffkopf, Mount Kniebis and the Schwarzenbach reservoir., STRASBOURG owes both its name – "the City of the Roads" in German – and its wealth to its position on the west bank of the Rhine, long one of the great natural transport arteries of Europe. If you want to sleep in a Strasbourg hotel, have a look at this site. Self-styled "le Carrefour de l'Europe", which is "Europe's Crossroads",, it certainly lies at the very heart of western Europe, closer to Frankfurt, Zurich and even Milan than to Paris. The city's medieval commercial pre-eminence was damaged by too close an involvement in the religious struggles of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, but recovered with the absorption into France in 1681. Along with the rest of Alsace, Strasbourg was annexed by Germany from 1871 to the end of World War I and again from 1940 to 1944.
